Book Talk

 

 

 


Co-op City Section sponsors a book club called Book Talk. This book Club is not limited to NCNW members. The group meets once per month at the Barnes & Noble in Bay Plaza to discuss books about the Black experience and/or women's issues. The following titles are books the book club has decided to read.

January 2007: "Come Hell or High Water" by Michael Eric Dyson

February 2007:
"Enough: The Phony Leaders, Dead-End Movements and Culture of Failure That Are Undermining Black America" by Juan Williams

March 2007:
"New News Out of Africa: Uncovering Africa's Renaissance" by Charlayne Hunter-Gault

April 2007:
"72 Hour Hold" by Bebe Moore Campbell

May 2007: "Tomorrow Begins Today: African American Women As We Age " by National Council of Negro Women, Inc., Cheryl Cooper, editor

June 2007: "A Hungry Heart (a Memoir)" by Gordon Parks
